As part of World Electronic Waste Day, we supported the Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation's (TEGV) ‘Don't Throw Away, Donate’ campaign with the electronic waste we collected at our Çalık Holding companies.
Through this project, the revenue generated from electronic waste helped provide quality education to underprivileged children with the support of TEGV.
We carry out renovation projects at universities with the aim of ensuring that our students receive a high-quality education that meets the requirements of the modern age. To date, we have renovated the Hydraulics Labor atory of the Department of Civil Engineering at Boğaziçi University and the Precious Metals Laboratory of the Faculty of Mining Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ). We have also renovated the Seminar Room of the Geomatics Department of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at İTÜ, creating special display units for the department's historical measuring instruments.
Atatürk's famous Yalova Mansion, which he had moved on runners to prevent damage from a plane tree branch, was restored with the support of Çalık Holding and opened to visitors on 18 August 2006 with a ceremony.

Following Atatürk's instruction, ‘The branch will not be cut, the mansion will move!’, the mansion was moved 4.8 metres and became known as the ‘Walking Mansion’. It served as a place of rest and work for Atatürk for many years and was restored to its original state, including all the furnishings inside and the landscaping.
As part of the ‘100% Support for Education’ campaign, the Mahmut Çalık Education Complex, with its modern building and technological equipment, comprising 32 classrooms, opened its doors in the 2012 academic year. Built on a total area of 40,000 square metres in Malatya, the Mahmut Çalık Education Complex, which also includes a nursery and primary school, houses girls' and boys' dormitories, an indoor sports hall, a dining hall, teachers' lodgings, auxiliary social facilities and a conference hall.
Completed in 1992 in Malatya, Hasan Çalık Hospital was built on a total area of 12,000 square metres, comprising 4,000 square metres of indoor space and 8,000 square metres of outdoor space. The hospital has a capacity of 75 beds and includes departments of internal medicine, surgery, urology, obstetrics and gynaecology, radiology, ear, nose and throat, paediatrics and infectious diseases. Transferred to the Ministry of Health under a protocol signed in 1994 and opened in 1997, the hospital's construction costs were covered by Çalık Holding.
Acting on the principle of adding value to society, Çalık Holding, as part of its social responsibility efforts in the field of education, built the Diniye Çalık Primary School with 26 classrooms and laboratories to replace a primary school damaged in the Malatya earthquake centred in Elazığ.
Çalık Holding and our Group companies provide scholarships and student assistance through the Malatya Education Foundation, which offers scholarship support to successful university students in need of financial assistance. Following regular annual contributions to the Foundation from all Group companies, scholarship applications are evaluated by the Foundation, and scholarships are awarded to students in need.
Since 2012, Çalık Holding has been organising iftar dinners throughout the month of Ramadan in different cities of Anatolia under the theme ‘We Break Our Fast in Anatolia’. Initially held in Van due to the earthquake disaster, the iftar dinners were organised in Şanlıurfa, Erzincan and Erzurum in subsequent years. All the necessary materials for the iftar dinners are sourced locally, thereby contributing to the local economy.
