Çalık Enerji, an affiliate of Çalık Holding, undertook the construction of Gardabani combined cycle power plant, one of the largest investments to Georgian energy sector in the recent years. To the signature ceremony; Kakha Kaladze - Georgian Minister of Energy, Irakli Kovzanadze - Chief Executive of JSC Partnership Fund, David Tvalabeishvili - General Director of Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) and Halil Sarıbey - Business Development Director of Çalık Enerji had attended.
Gardabani combined cycle power plant, 35 kilometers from Tbilisi is the largest investment of Georgia to the energy sector in the recent years. At this combined cycle power plant with a power of 230 MW, General Electric turbines will be used and the plant will start generating electricity only within 740 days. Çalık Holding to take role in this investment will provide a significant added value to the relations and economic cooperation between Turkey and Georgia.
Çalık Enerji had taken its place in the 2012 ENR list based on 2011 figures as the 129th largest contracting company of the world. The company rose up to the 111th place in 2013.
