BKT, Çalık Group's subsidiary acting in Albania and in Kosovo, has been chosen as the "Best Bank of the Year" by The Banker magazine. In addition to this award, BKT has been also praised as "The Best Bank in Albania" by Euromoney and EMEA Finance magazines in 2014.
Published by Financial Times that is one of the leading media organs in finance world, The Banker magazine awarded the prize of "Best Bank of the Year" in Albania to Banka Kombetare Tregtare (BKT). One of the most prestigious awards of banking industry, the "Bank of the Year" award of The Banker was presented to Mehmet Usta, Chairman of the Board, and Seyhan Pencabligil, General Manager and Member of the Board of Directors, during the ceremony held in London on 27th November.
During his statement about the award, indicating that he was very happy and proud of having the award of "Best Bank of the Year in Albania" for the 5th time, Chairman of the Board of BKT Mehmet Usta expressed:
"The increasingly continuing successful performance of BKT, the oldest bank in Albania of which 90th anniversary will be celebrated next year, and the satisfaction of its customers are the biggest factors of having such international awards. Also the other first prizes, obtained this year from the finances magazines such as Euromoney and EMEA Finance, confirm this issue."

Emphasizing that BKT obtained the leadership position in Albania's banking system as of June 2014 thanks to the big investments realized by the management of Çalık Group and to the consistent growth of 8 years, Usta said, "I am very pleased with that. We have become "The biggest bank" of the country with the market share of 23% and total assets of 2.8 billion USD. This is a very important milestone for us. I congratulate particularly our Bank's General Manager and all employees who made effort to have this award from The Banker and I thank all BKT family, our customers and our partners."
Seyhan Pencabligil, General Manager and Member of the Board of Directors, indicated, "As BKT, we have obtained the most important three awards of the banking industry again this year like the last year. We are aware that each award brings along additional responsibilities. This responsibility now obliges us to continue our effort to increase the welfare and development in the geography where we work as the biggest, the most long-established and the best bank. Our aim will be to grow the name of BKT, the most valuable local brand of Albania, also in the region."
In addition to the "Best Bank of the Year" award, BKT has obtained the "Best Bank of Albania" award from Euromoney and EMEA Finance magazines in 2014. Having the size of assets of 2.8 billion USD, BKT provides service to its customer with its total 88 branches, 63 in Albania and 25 in Kosovo.
