Sancar Turkish Culture Center, a project to be realized in the USA by Nobel Prize winner scientist Aziz Sancar, was introduced through an event hosted by Çalık Holding.
Çalık Holding held a special event to support the publicity of Sancar Turkish Culture Center, a project that will be realized in North Carolina by Aziz Sancar Foundation. During the event which was hosted by Ahmet Çalık, the chairman of Çalık Holding, the guests were informed about the activities of Sancar Turkish Culture Center.
Ahmet Çalık, the chairman of Çalık Holding, stated during his speech: “Aziz Sancar honoured our country and nation greatly by winning the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2015. Aziz Sancar has a dream, to establish a Turkish culture center. This center will work on collaborations between Turkey and America in the fields of science and technology and support universities and incubation centers in our country. Most importantly, it will assist students who move to America from Turkey and provide accommodation to them with its guest center. It will welcome our youth so that new generations can achieve what Aziz Sancar achieved years ago. We are holding this event to share with you this exciting Turkish Culture Center project, which fills us with pride and makes us happy just like Aziz Sancar’s Nobel Prize. We wanted to share this dream with you.”
Aziz Sancar mentioned that the foundation has taken steps to establish a new center with better equipment. Sancar told that the new project would provide services at a larger scale with the name Turkish Culture Center, and added:
“ We will organize educational trips to Turkey for students under the scope of abroad studies outside America. We will give full support to students and researchers coming from Turkey to help them with their orientation. We will work on improving mutual understanding and relations between the Turkish and American communities. We will organize events to create and increase communication and collaboration opportunities between Turkish and American organizations. We will also contribute to technological and scientific developments in Turkey by making the resources of large universities and techno cities in North Carolina available.”
Based in North Carolina, Aziz Sancar Foundation is working to increase mutual understanding between Turkish and American communities, assist students and researchers from Turkey to accommodate them in America, provide information about Turkey and the Turkish Culture and provide counselling on education.
