"Conference on the Investment Opportunities in Iraq" by Foreign Economic Relations Board und was held on 10th April 2015 under the sponsorship of Çalık Holding in Istanbul with the participation of Turkish Republic Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci. The conference was attended by Iraqi Ministers as well as businesspeople from both countries.
Agreement between Aktif Bank and Trade Bank of Iraq
After the opening speeches, Çalık Holding organization Aktif Bank signed a strategic Cooperation Agreement related to joint project finance activities with Trade Bank of Iraq. It is also aimed that this strategic cooperation of two banks, which will cooperate also in international field related to the financing of projects having importance for the development of Iraq, will contribute to the trade volume between Turkey and Iraq of more than 10 billion dollars annually.
"We feel at home in Iraq"
General Manager of Çalık Enerji, one of Çalık Holding subsidiaries, Dr. Osman Saim Dinç gave a speech during the "Investment Opportunities in Iraq" panel held by the moderator Turkey-Iraq Business Council President Ercument Aksoy within the scope of the Conference.
Indicating that they made very good works with Iraqis in the region they work, Dinc said, "As Çalık Enerji, we make us at home in Iraq and we work as we work at home while developing projects here. I thank you all for the ambiance you provide for us. We have programs such as cooperation of Turkish companies and Iraqis organizations as investors in Iraq, Turkey and even third countries. Again I express my wishes for establishing civil peace of Iraq and for establishing its security and stability."
"Al-Khairat Power Plant" by Çalık Enerji, which has a capacity of 1.250 MW was commissioned in 2013 and awarded with "The Best Global Project" title by Engineering News Record (ENR) Magazine. Supplying one fifth of Iraq's electricity demand, the power plant is at the forefront as one of the most important infrastructure projects for the reconstruction of Iraq.
