Organized collaboratively by Çalık Holding and Yildiz Technical University, the second 'İlk İşim Girişim' competition started with the Roadshow, which is to be held in five Anatolian universities.
The first stop of Çalık Holding and YTU Technology Transfer Office, whose aim is to inform university students about 'İlk İşim Girişim' competition, increase participation rate to the competition and to guide entrepreneur youth, was Karadeniz Technical Universtity (KTU).
Çalık Holding and Yildiz Technical University (YTU), ranked among the most important industrial institutions and universities respectively, started the Roadshow to promote the second 'İlk İşim Girişim' competition. The first stop of the Roadshow, to be held in 5 universities selected regionally according to the 2014 'Entrepreneur and Innovative Universities Index' list published by TUBITAK, was Karadeniz Technical University (KTU). Students showed great interest to the İlk İşim Girişim stand, set up at the centre of the campus to promote the competition.
Within the scope of the Roadshow, stands will be set up and informative seminars will be given at Inonu University on 25-26th March, Mersin University on 27th March, Selcuk University on 30-31st March and Dokuz Eylul University on 1-2nd April. Also in the Istanbul phase of the event, promotion stands will be opened in Davutpasa and Besiktas campuses of Yildiz Teknik University.
1 million TL investment opportunity
'İlk İşim Girişim' competition is held each year by YTU Technology Transfer Office and Çalık Holding in order to raise awareness for the importance of entrepreneurship in terms of regional and national development, increase students' interest in entrepreneurship and innovation, discover business ideas that are innovative, interesting, profitable and useful to society. Project applications are received within the specific time periods, then they are evaluated by prominent academicians and businessmen.
After the projects are evaluated, first 10 entrepreneur candidates will justify their projects on the final day which will be held in YTU Davutpasa Campus Otag-i Humayun. 3 project owners who can convince the jury with their presentations, will have the opportunity to receive an investment up to 1 million TL from Çalık Holding. Also the best project will be able to benefit from free office, infrastructure and general expenses support at the YTU Kulucka Merkezi (Education Centre) as well as mentoring services from YTU TTO.
