''Social Solidarity Award'', which was given for the first time in Albania, was awarded to Ahmet Çalık, Chairman of the Board of Çalık Holding, by Albania's Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth.
The award was given for the social responsibility projects about especially the abandoned and orphaned children and about the protection of the environment by BKT, which is the largest bank of Albania, and ALBtelecom, which is the largest telecommunication operator of the country, the companies of Çalık Group operating in Albania.
During the award ceremony, Albania's Minister for Social Welfare and Youth, Erion Veliaj thanked Ahmet Çalık saying that those social responsibility projects should set an example to everybody. Stating that he received the award on behalf of the employees of BKT and ALBtelecom, Ahmet Çalık said, '' In Albania, we will continue to support the society and the children, the future of this country''.
''2014 Social Solidarity Award'' was awarded to Ahmet Çalık, Chairman of the Board of Çalık Holding, by Albania's Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth for the successful social responsibility projects performed by the companies affiliated to the Çalık Holding. The award was given to Ahmet Çalık by Erion Veliaj, Albania's Minister for Social Welfare and Youth, during the ceremony organized in Zyber Hallulli Orphanage in Tiran, the capital of Albania.
The managers of BKT and ALBtelecom companies of the Çalık Holding operating in that country as well as the Ambassador to Albania, Hidayet Bayraktar, the directors of different Turkish agents in Albania and the representatives of The Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth attended the award ceremony. The Social Solidarity Award given to Ahmet Çalık, which is aimed to be traditionalized by The Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth, is the first award in this field in Albania. During his speech at the ceremony, Albania's Minister for Social Welfare and Youth, Erion Veliaj thanked Ahmet Çalık saying that those contributions of the companies of Çalık Holding operating in Albania to the social life in that country should set an example for everybody. Ahmet Çalık, in his speech, said that he received the award on behalf of the employees of Çalık Group companies operating in Albania. Çalık thanked the Minister Veliaj for the award and said:
''While the managers and employees of ALBtelecom and EagleMobile, the largest telecommunication operators of Albania, and BKT, the largest bank of the country, were striving with all their powers for bringing the best service to the Albanian people in their own business fields, they did not neglect their social responsibilities that we regard as sacred. Our companies BKT and ALBtelecom did a good job, with our approval, through their social improvement projects they developed in the fields such as education, environment and health. They did their best for Albania, which we are happy to serve, with the philosophy of Çalık Holding ''Value the Human Being and Serve the Society''. Within this year, while the furniture of Saranda Orphanage was replaced, the theatres of Vlora Orphanage, Velipoje Social Center and Zyber Hallullit Orphanage were renovated as well. The medical equipment was donated to the health sector and free internet access was provided in Shkodër Orphanage. In addition, we promoted the environment campaign for cleaning of Albania and made contributions to the further increase of green areas in the capital with the forestation works.''
''The right works change the life of children''
Stating that they were sure that the life of many children could change positively with the works properly planned, Çalık said '' Therefore, of course, we will continue to support the society and the children, the future of this country. I hope that our works and the award given to me will set an encouraging example to the private sector.''
