9th International Turkmenistan Investment Forum, organized jointly by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Turkmenistan was launched at Çırağan Palace Kempinski in Istanbul.
Ministers and businessmen from both countries attended the Forum held on March 4-5, 2015. At the Forum organized under the main sponsorship of Çalık Holding, Mr. Ahmet Çalık, Chairman of Çalık Holding also delivered a speech.
Ahmet Çalık, who took the floor at the panel, entitled "Investment Climate in Turkmenistan, Incentives and Opportunities for Investors" and he started his speech by celebrating the 20th anniversary of the declaration of independence of Turkmenistan.
Çalık emphasized that they started their activities in Turkmenistan after the country declared its independence, with the hopes of acting with solidarity and supporting a sister country with a sense of responsibility and he added; "First we started operating in textile industry in Turkmenistan. Then we became involved in construction and energy businesses. We carried out our activities in Turkmenistan with the principle of adding value to people's lives and creating benefits for the society as we do in every country that we invest in. We have always enjoyed a friendly and brotherly approach in Turkmenistan where we do business under the principles of mutual respect, love and honesty".
Ahmet Çalık commented on Çalık Group's investments in Turkmenistan and the regional power of the country and said, "Turkmenistan is an attractive country for Turkish investors not only due to its economic growth rate and visionary leadership but also to being a country of peace and tranquility, its cultural similarity and stability. I believe that Turkmenistan is one of the best countries to invest in as it reached double-digit growth figures in terms of investments in construction and infrastructure and it continues to enjoy significant moves of economic growth and development with a deep stability and confidence".
Ahmet Çalık, Chairman of Çalık Holding and a member of Executive Board of DEIK concluded his remarks by saying, "I, as an investor who knows the country well, invite all of our entrepreneurs to invest in Turkmenistan. I would like to extend my gratitude and respect to Mr Gurbanguli Berdimuhammedov, distinguished President of Turkmenistan who has always supported and trusted us and I hope that this forum will be fruitful and beneficial for investors from both countries as well as for international investors".
